01What this policy covers
A cookie is a small text file that a website stores on your device. Like most platforms we also use related technologies — local storage, session storage and pixels — and this policy refers to all of them as “cookies”.
This policy explains exactly which cookies Quanta Educational Center sets on quantaonline.net, what each one does, how long it lasts, and how to control them. It supplements our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle personal data more broadly.
02The categories we use
- Strictly necessary — required for the Platform to work: signing you in, keeping your session alive, protecting forms against cross-site request forgery, and balancing traffic across our servers. These cannot be switched off, and we set them without consent because the Platform cannot function without them.
- Functional — remember choices you have made, such as your language, theme and time zone. Refusing them means re-setting those preferences on each visit.
- Analytics — tell us, in aggregate, which pages and features are used and where errors occur, so we can fix and improve them. Set only with your consent.
04Consent and legal basis
Strictly necessary cookies are set under our legitimate interest in delivering a service you asked for, and are exempt from consent requirements. Functional and analytics cookies are set only after you accept them.
- Where required — including in the EEA and the UK — non-essential cookies stay off until you opt in, and refusing is as easy as accepting.
- You can change or withdraw your choice at any time, and withdrawal is as easy as giving consent.
- We honour Global Privacy Control signals: if your browser sends one, we treat it as an opt-out of all non-essential cookies.
- We do not set analytics cookies on accounts we know belong to a child.
05How to control cookies
Browser controls
Every major browser lets you view, delete and block cookies from its settings — look for “Privacy and security” in Chrome and Edge, “Privacy & Security” in Firefox, or “Privacy” in Safari. You can also browse in a private window, which discards cookies when you close it.
Opting out of analytics
You can decline analytics cookies in our consent banner, or install Google’s browser opt-out add-on to block Google Analytics across every site you visit.
Clearing what is already stored
Signing out removes your authentication cookies. To clear everything, delete Quanta’s site data from your browser settings — this also removes the local-storage keys listed above.
06Changes to this policy
We update this policy whenever we add, remove or repurpose a cookie. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the current version, and where a change requires fresh consent we will ask for it before setting the new cookie.
